I began the project Solitude & Semaphore when delivering part of the Learning & Outreach programme at Attenborough Arts Centre with Next Gen Creatives; a group of teenagers in Leicester city, during Lockdown 2020. We have since built a website. I have since delivered to therapists and service users at Imara and to Saturday Art Club at New Art Exchange.
Solitude & Semaphore is a five-phase process exploring isolation and communication through making bespoke flags and performing and recording semaphore. This came from a desire to communicate how we are feeling during the pandemic, and how we explore and portray our identity, desires and concerns.
